I would like to welcome all of the cadets and their families. A new year is upon us with new challenges to embrace. Cadets will now be grouped by grade and we have added a Forensics requirement for the 12th grade year. We will also continue many of the exciting programs that make our program exciting, such as, the Toughest Cadet Alive, our partnership with the LAPD Historical Museum, guest speakers, field trips, and of course the culminating graduation at the Elysian Park Police Academy. With hard work and enthusiasm we will have a great year.

Mission Statement |
By providing a rigorous academic high school curriculum, the Los Angeles Junior Police Academy Magnet School at Woodrow Wilson High School prepares highly motivated young men and women for careers in law enforcement and related fields. Drawing upon the diversity of our city, the Academy assists the Los Angeles Police Department in achieving effective community-based policing, while providing Los Angeles Unified School District students with opportunities to explore the broad range of careers within the field of criminal justice. Cadets will understand the relationship between academic achievement and success in the work place and will develop the skills necessary to make well-informed career choices. |
